UAW-Ford JOINT APPRENTICE PROGRAM

Applications must be completed in the Labor Relations Office during the two week period listed below:

Monday through Friday Only 

Beginning:      Monday      April 23, 2001          7:00am until 4:30pm

Ending:      Friday            May 4, 2001        7:00am until 4:30pm

Applications WILL NOT be available or accepted before or after these dates.

The testing will take place on June 4, 5 and 6, 2001. There will be 2 testing sessions held daily, at 9:00 am and 4:30 pm in the Gettelfinger Room, Saline Plant. Each session will be approximately 5 hours.

The Joint Apprenticeship Committee will be available on March 27 and 28, 2001 from 7:00 am until 9:00 am and from 2:30 pm until 4:30 pm in the main cafeteria, Saline Plant. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions related to the Apprentice Program.

All eligible employees making application will be scheduled to test at the time they make application for testing You will be required to show your Ford Visteon I.D. card or other form of picture I.D. in order to gain admission to the test site.

TECHNICAL READINESS

In anticipation of conducting testing for the Apprenticeship Program in the near future, a Technical Readiness Program is scheduled to begin.

The Skills Enhancement Program (Learning Center) will be offering Pre-assessments in Math and Reading and refresher classes in these areas in preparation for the Apprenticeship Test.

The math and reading pre-assessments are each approximately one hour long and will be given at the Learning Center during the weeks of MARCH 26 AND APRIL 2, 2001.  BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Please call the Learning Center at (734) 429-6560 for an appointment to take the reading and/or math pre-assessments. The results of the pre-assessments will be sent to you so that you may attend the appropriate refresher classes. " You are welcome to attend any or all of the refresher classes without having first completed the pre-assessments.
